Why I Am Choosing JOMO Over FOMO
We live in an #instaworld right?
We see what everyone is doing, when they are doing it and whom they are doing it with and we get serious #FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out.)
FOMO causes anxiety and low mood further reducing our ability to enjoy the present moment. Glued to our phones, we miss out on real time experiences with our loved ones. Instead of investing time in the now, we waste time worrying about what was or could be.
Instead, let’s look at things a bit differently...
How about embracing JOMO instead - the Joy Of Missing Out. Why not welcome the idea that others are busy doing something else but you are happy and choosing to chill in your PJs at home enjoying some “me-time?” Or whatever it is that makes you just BE. Take pleasure in switching off from your devices and from all the hustle and reward yourself for investing in yourself.
This weekend, enjoy #JOMO. Enjoy embracing alone time, enjoy embracing time with dear ones and most of all enjoy missing out on those things that don’t add value to your life.
